Completely Irrelevant

Ramblings. That's what this is about. We'll see where my train of thought goes.

Anyways, as you can see the information on this profile is starting to get up and about it seems. I'll be updating everything day by day, as it's summer and all my friends are on vacation. Even my SO is out of town, resulting in the creation of...well this. It'll take a while to get everything I want up, but I'll get there. I might need some help finding out information on island enemies, so feel free to aid me in that later. The curse of not being level 70.

That brings up an important issue with our lovely Wolf-Haven map. Have you realized how completely out of proportion the entire thing is? Take a good look, and you'll see that the level barriers are really doing nothing to help out the site or its members (except for the desert). You would think that once unlocking a zone, you'd be in for a ridiculous amount of awesome, more XP, etc. But wait, nope. The snow zone offers way less XP for a level 30 than wandering around the area right next to it. Snow leopards give out...50 XP. Wild goats give out more. And if you're level 30, don't think for a second you can take out those polar bears, though you might have a chance against the regular one.

Moving onto the desert, where you're required to be level 50. Here, you actually get a reward, if you've spent your skill points properly. A level 50 can easily gain XP in the desert without too much trouble when it comes to enemies. Though what the point of camels and roadrunners is, is quite beyond me. Those two need some major adjustments if they're ever going to be more than an accidental click. If you've ever mistakenly clicked a camel, you understand what I mean.

Onto the island, which is by far the worst of the bunch. To get onto this supposed magical place, you'll have to be a whopping level 70. Let's look at our members hmm? Just going over the online list now, with 52 users online...5 meet that requirement. There seems little point to such a feature if so few of your members can use it. I can understand the need that our higher level members do need an area which they can gain XP faster to reach those crazy 12 million XP needed ranks. However, even the XP given from the enemies found there is barely anymore than that of enemies given at the desert. A mustang in the desert (level 50) gives more XP than both the anaconda (85) and komodo dragon (90). Not to mention the number of enemies in the desert far exceeds that of those on the island, which results in more XP for a high leveled user in the desert.

The solution? XP needs to be boosted on the island to make it of any use to the very, very, few members who can even use the place. As for the tundra zone, enemies that are better suited for level 30s need to be added. If a zone is unlocked at a certain level, you'd expect it to become your new home away from home, and a better place to work on leveling up. Sadly, the only one that fits such a requirement is the desert. And that place has camels.

EDIT: As Sheri has pointed out XP barriers have been removed. However, this doesn't change the fact that both the tundra and island are still basically useless for XP and rarely used.

  1. Wait, I thought the XP barriers were removed forever ago? I could get to all the areas on my weak side account last time I tried. I think this came up in chat once too, and Karlos basically agreed with what you've said here as well as mentioning it was unneeded extra coding. I could be wrong though, but you might wanna double check if you haven't been on the map in some time.

  2. I heard they were down due to some previous issues, but figured they were to come back up eventually (like hopefully other features) xD

Still, both the island and tundra are still pretty useless even without XP barriers when you look at it. Neither offer any sort of decent XP (or in the islands case, are completely ridiculous to defeat)
